The Daniels Motorsport Team were at Autosport international Show at the NEC showing the new class D and Fiesta Junior. There was a lot of interest in both Classes and Juniors drivers were signed up at the show. Below is Pete Daniels talking to a previous Fiesta driver Colin Turkington who is now a BTCC/World touring car driver.
2011 was a very successful year for the drivers working with Daniels Motorsport in the BRSCC Competition Car Insurance Ford Fiesta Championships.
In Class A, Daniels Motorsport achieved a 1-2-3 clean sweep of the podium. Young newcomer John Langridge took 1st place with a near-faultless performance, scoring 12 poles and 12 wins in 12 races, with 10 fastest laps. Meanwhile “gentleman racers” Dave Elsom and Nick Tiley, both fairly new to racing and in their 40’s took 2nd and 3rdpositions in the Championship table out of 13 entrants. John will be graduating to Class C in 2012, following a very promising test outing in late 2011.
Class B continued to offer very close racing, with Daniels drivers finishing in 3rd and 4th places out of 10 entrants. While veteran Fiesta racer Ken Bateman claimed 3rd, newcomer James Appleby earned many plaudits for his first full season. He achieved 3 podium finishes in the last 6 races, helping him a hard-won 4th position in his first full season. He has entered in a Class D car in 2012.
Class C attracts a very high level of competition, with no fewer than 36 drivers during the season. Daniels-supported drivers claimed 4 out of the top 6 places with 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 6th placed finishes. Brothers Harry and Ed Cockill took 2nd and 3rd in their second year in car racing, with Matt Parr in 4th and Nick Bowers in 6th. The Cockill brothers and Nick Bowers had all graduated from 2010 drives with Daniels Motorsport in classes A and B.
The Class C-based Veterans Cup had 8 entrants, with Daniels Drivers taking 2nd and 4th places. Dave Abbott in 2nd has a long history of Fiesta trophies and works for Daniels giving race tuition and advice, and Al Daly in 4th who has worked with Daniels for many years.
Meanwhile at the other end of the scale, Daniels also prepared cars for the up-coming Fiesta Junior series, which had demonstration runs at Lydden Hill and Brands Hatch. They built the first car and have now completed four cars ready for the start of this new Championship in 2012.
Daniels Motorsport was also the first team to bring a competed Class D car to the grid. The very pretty car, based on the current shape Fiesta, impressed many at its first outing at Lydden Hill in September and several drivers have already committed to racing in this class in 2012.
There was plenty of glamour during the year. Daniels Motorsport helped two international drivers join the series, with Belgian touring car Jimmy Adriensson scoring a double win at Brands Hatch in October. Meanwhile celebrity chef Johnnie Mountain (as seen on TV’s “Great British Menu”) was a guest of the team at Brands Hatch in June and was highly tempted to abandon fast motorbikes for slick-shod Fiestas.
Third-place Class A finisher Nick Tiley said ““I really enjoyed my year and couldn’t have done it without Pete and the team. I’m no mechanic and can’t afford the time to trailer a car around. Daniels Motorsport did all the hard work, allowing me just to turn up and compete in 2011. I’d recommend them to anyone wanting to get into real motorsport. If you want to race a Fiesta and you want to succeed, you’d better give Pete a ring!”
Daniels Motorsport offers a formidable range of choices for the Fiesta racer. The team is hugely experienced and offers car hire, car preparation and setup, race support, arrive and drive packages, driver tuition, track day and sponsor activities. And a mean bacon sandwich at race weekends.

Fiesta Junior – forth Car now Started
The first Fiesta Junior car we completed was shown on the Ford Racing stand a the 2011 Autosport Show, NEC in January. The car is based on the ST150 specification Fiesta and aroused great interest at the show.
Our Forth car is now completed and the fifth car is back from Custom Cages (the MSA appointed fitters) and painted and will be ready for the first in 2012. Daniels Motorsport will be running track tests for interested parties please call Peter Daniels 07860 870210 or David Abbott 07801 354836 for details.
Daniels motorsport has now completed the forth Fiesta Junior car in preparation for the 2012 season. These cars have been stripped of all interior trim, seats, wiring, dash, head lining, sound deadening pads, and have now had a roll cages fitted by Custom Cages who are the sole supplier for the Fiesta Junior roll cages. These cars have now been tested along side the senior class and proved to be just as fast and very competitive.
Cars now for sale or built to order see cars for sale section.
This is a new class for 2012 and Daniels Motorsport built the first development car which is based on the 2009 model Fiesta Zetec S. The car was first shown at the Formula Ford Festival in November 2011
This model may only have 120bhp but is much lighter than the ST150 class C cars. The car will run initially with the class A & B cars as it is developed and may eventually replace the class A (S.I.) cars as it is no longer possible to build a new car for that class.
Here is the car at Ford Fair at Silverstone
It sure looks the part!
